Celebrate Sunday The Power of Praise & Worship 9.00 am Sunday mornings on UCB Ireland

Acts 16:23-26 “And when they had laid many stripes upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailor to keep them safely:

(24) Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stocks.

(25) And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

(26) And suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the foundations of the prison were shaken: and immediately all the doors were opened, and every one’s bands were loosed.”

According to the standards of that day, a prison was more like the resemblance of a dungeon. A dark, damp, stench-ridden place, with no facility for waste or comforts of any kind.Yet, in spite of the disheartening atmosphere, at midnight Paul and Silas were heard praying and singing praises to God! What a strange sound this must have been to the other prisoners, who were used to only hearing the groans or cursings of those who had been beaten.
Then suddenly, there was an earthquake that shook the prison! The doors flung open, and amazingly, the bonds of Paul, Silas, and every other prisoner were released! What caused this mighty discharge of power?

Praise Elevates us into God’s Presence and Power

Paul and Silas knew the secret of how to lift their hearts above their troubles and enter into God’s presence and power. Through praise and worship their hearts were raised into the joyous presence and peace of God, and provided God a channel for his power to operate in their circumstances.

The Bible says that God inhabits in the praises of His people (Psalms 22:3). In other words, God “dwells” in the atmosphere of His praise. This means that praise is not merely a reaction from coming into His presence - Praise is a vehicle of faith which brings us into the presence and power of God! Praise and worship is the “gate-pass” which allows us to enter the sacredness of His glory. The psalmist writes, “Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name” (Psalms 100:4).

What is Praise? Praise means “to commend, to applaud or magnify.” For the Christian, praise to God is an expression of worship, lifting-up and glorifying the Lord. It is an expression of humbling ourselves and centering our attention upon the Lord with heart-felt expressions of love, adoration and thanksgiving. High praises bring our spirit into a pinnacle of fellowship and intimacy between ourselves and God — it magnifies our awareness of our spiritual union with the most high God. Praise transports us into the realm of the supernatural and into the power of God. “Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance” (Psalms 89:15).

Last week, a group of us here at UCB Ireland gathered in our studios, opened our hearts and souls and............the microphones, and recorded our time of praise and worship together. We were so blessed by our time together that we wanted our listeners to share in this Blessing with us. Our time of praise and worship here at UCB Ireland was captured in a recording , and together with some of the most uplifting praise and worship music, was broadcast last Sunday morning at 9.00 am.

The program was so well received that we have decided to make this a regular feature of our Sunday morning schedule. So, join with us on Sunday mornings at 9.00 am and get your Sunday off to the best possible start. Celebrate Sunday on UCB Ireland. Great Christian Radio.

It’s coming up to the end of Pre-Season...

This time of year most of country is talking about football.

The season is coming to an end here in Ireland, with the honours about to be dished out soon to the winners of the various competitions.  The legs are growing weary, and the end is in sight for another year for the players, managers, staff and fans.

Contrast that with over in England; where their football season is just beginning.  Most football fans in this country follow at team over there too, and the season is just up and running.  There’s anticipation in the air, dreams of your team winning something, hopes that the team performs to the best of their ability, expectations that players will do what is expected of them.  It is now time for them to deliver on the promises that will have been made by the owners and managers to them.

It’s “Go-Time”.

It’s coming up to the end of pre-season here at UCB Ireland Radio.

The FM launch is a matter of a couple of weeks away, and the broadcasts area is buzzing.  Programmes are being recorded, edited, and prepared by the bucket load.  Our volunteers are working like crazy to give us a hand.  New shows are on the horizon, as well as a beefed up schedule.

We’re trusting that God is preparing the ears of his people for the Gospel message – a message that gives hope, encouragement, and quite literally changes lives.  You’ll be hearing some of these stories over the coming weeks.

God has a plan.  He knows who’s going to be listening, and who will respond with obedience towards our Father.  He knows who will be inspired to support us.  He knows who is ready and waiting to lend us a further hand, and bring us to the next level again; during and after this temporary licence.  Is He speaking to you?   Are you to give your time, you skills and your finances to help bring God’s message to the people of Ireland and beyond, through us, his tool, UCB Ireland Radio.

Right now, we’re on Sky, UPC, Satellite, iPhone, Android (through the “Tune In Radio” app), as well  as DAB specifically in the South East.  We can be found pretty much everywhere, so tune in, and if you like what you hear, if you think what you hear can make a difference, let us know.

You can e-mail our Programme Director at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it  ,or simply visit our facebook page.  The link is at the top of this page.  And who knows?  Maybe God is leading you to support us too...

Pray for us during this pre-season, you can follow us and listen in through the player at the top of the page, and do make sure you are with us come September 9th when we get the FM season up and running.

God Bless,

Our Purpose and Our Passion

Being involved in radio that is 100% irish christian radio, which is making an unashamed effort to bring the gospel, with no pretence, to masses is a privilege; and one which God has called us to at this time for an ultimate purpose that only he knows.

Jesus Christ is real.  Jesus Christ is alive.  Jesus Christ is Lord.

And through music and programming that is varied, entertaining, and gospel centred, we here at UCB Ireland Radio are endeavouring to make sure this is known through irish christian radio.

Truth

During these times where there is a never before mixture of anger, disillusionment and apathy towards God, much of it as a result of the mistakes of people (i.e. the Church), Jesus needs to be introduced everyone all over again.  The excitement, the passion, and most importantly the grace of Christ needs to be known, and what is on offer on UCB Ireland Radio, whether it be our presenters, our music, programming, it is dripping with this truth.

We won’t shy away from Jesus.  He deserves more than that.

We encourage you to listen and  let us know what you think on our Facebook page, which is linked, or by e-mailing our programme director Vincent at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .

On digital, satellite, iPhone and Android, you can listen just about anywhere...and from September 9th, for 10 weeks, Friday through Sunday, there will be our christian radio on FM!*

Don’t take our word for it

Have a listen, and see for yourself if there’s anything different.  There’s our regular programming which will know from looking through this site, or from hopefully listening for yourself, but I need to tell you of my anticipation at the prospect of a glut of new programming, and a re-vamp of everything in time for our FM transmission in the Autumn.

Keep an eye here for more news on that as it comes.  You’ll know once we do.  Keep on listening to the station for the latest news too (click at the top of the page to listen); there’s plenty changing all the time, and the only way for you to keep in touch is to stay listening, and stay up-to-date on this website.

Thank you for reading, God Bless, and remember we’re all about Jesus, and we’re all about serving the nation of Ireland in His Name.

The Journey Continues...

With the much publicised, and very real, effects of the recession over the last few years, I often think it is very easy to bemoan our 'luck' in this country.  Before we know it, we've fallen into a trap of self-pity, and 'why me?'.

From there we head down the road of believing we are entitled to certain things; be it success, fortune, fame, comfort or any of the qualities we have in our respective lives which we can so readily take for granted.  We forget who we are, and we forget to be thankful for the gifts that have been given to us.  We have so much to be thankful for.  I always have to remind myself of that, because as I've briefly outlined, it's almost a human characteristic to be the opposite.

It is in this vein that I write with fervour with regards to the present and future of UCB Ireland Radio, and as I write, I will ask you to join with me in this excitement!

Journey

It's been a long road, a road which I won't go through here as it's not the time or place, but suffice to say it's been an arduous one, filled with peaks and troughs, and one which we can, in a very real way, look back upon and see God has had his hand on it every step of the way.  This is His ministry.

September 6th will see us on FM for 30 days - made up of Friday to Sunday stretches for 10 straight weeks.  It's an awesome opportunity that has been afforded to us, and let me tell you, we cannot wait to hit the FM airwaves, taking them by storm!  The country will get to hear what 100% irish Christian Radio sounds like, and we look forward, hopefully along with you, to what the response will be.

Your support is vital, both financially and prayerfully, and we want to use this opportunity to kick on into the future, endeavouring to bring this 100%  irish christian radio service to the nation.

Taking a step back for a moment though, even just on a day to day basis at the station, things continue to be exciting, as well as challenging.

Opportunity

New and homegrown programmes galore, new music from both Ireland and around the world flooding in, interviews with some of the biggest names in Christian music including Aaron Keyes, Matt Redman and Tim Hughes, to the people behind the wonderful work of Christian charities such as Tearfund and Compassion - organisations who seek to bring Christ and Justice into situations where they don't seem to exist - we are proud to be alongside all of them on this journey to helping introduce everyone to the love of Christ.

Details of all these programmes, interviews and music will come in upcoming posts, but for now, I just want to leave you with a feeling of excitement, but perhaps more importantly, a feeling of expectation.

So often we sell God short.  We, often without even knowing we're doing it, place limitations on what God can do through His people.  We here at UCB Ireland not only hope, but expect, God to work.   We've already seen it.  There is a murmur in the air, an unrest; and it's an unrest that Christ will answer, and we believe He will answer it through the work He does through UCB Ireland.

May God continue to bless the work here.  May we know He is working, and cheering us on.   May you know He is cheering you on, because simply, that is what He does for His people!
